Ogarun, a brand specializing in outdoor sportswear.

Founded in 2019 by Jean-Charles Giorgi, Ogarun was born from an atypical background and a clear ambition: to offer quality outdoor clothing, designed to last, made from natural materials such as merino wool. Jean-Charles spent 19 years at Décathlon, where he held various roles: retail, supply chain in the cycling sector, product manager in nutrition, then head of design teams for the Trail Running segment. One day, he decided to launch his own brand, offering merino wool garments made in France, for hiking, running, cycling, etc. The brand operates on a pre-order model two seasons in advance: in April, Jean-Charles already has the orders for the following winter in hand. Ogarun's philosophy can be summed up in one sentence: "Be present when people look for us." In other words, make good products from natural materials, and make sure to be visible at the right time, in the right place.

Challenge

Disproportionate expenses relative to an independent brand's resources

The outdoor retail sector revolves around two key periods in the year: the Spring-Summer collection, generally launched after the Easter holidays, and the Autumn-Winter collection launched at the beginning of winter. These are critical periods during which large quantiity of products arrive and must be photographed to populate the website’s product pages. But the logistical reality is more complex: some pieces arrive outside these windows, as stock comes in gradually, which forces Jean-Charles to spread shoots over several months throughout the year.

With an e-commerce site generating around 2,500 orders per year, for a turnover of €300,000, with an average basket of €132 and a repurchase rate of up to 70%, it is essential for the brand to maintain a quality experience on their main sales channel. The brand therefore cannot do without professional photos, which are key conversion factors on the site.

In 2024, the brand devoted €40,000 over eight months to organizing and managing these two major annual shoots. A heavy investment for an independent brand, especially since the logistics of these shooting days are particularly demanding. Shooting an entire collection in a single session requires finding a model capable of wearing all styles of pieces in a coherent way, and doing so with a single profile to keep costs under control.

“During our last photoshoot, the model who showed up had shoulders that were too broad and legs that weren’t muscular enough. With Veeton, I can now control everything and find the model that truly reflects our brand identity!”

Solution

An affordable solution that gives control back to the brand

Jean-Charles discovered Veeton through word of mouth. During a visit to the Lemahieu offices, he saw Nicolas Thébaud, the founder of the house, photograph a dress on a hanger with his phone and obtain a professional visual ready to publish within seconds. Jean-Charles quickly realized the impact that using AI-powered photoshoots could have on his business.

Two days later, he met Flore Lestrade, co-founder and CEO of Veeton. The next day, he was already generating his first visuals for the Ogarun website.

What convinced him right from the start was how quickly he was able to get the hang of the tool, as well as the quality of the personal support he received.

“What I really appreciated about Veeton is this: we met, the solution was explained to me. For me, these conversations, this relationship, this support, that’s what matters most.”

Results

An AI photo shoot that meets the brand's need for autonomy and flexibility

With Veeton, Jean-Charles no longer has to depend on a photographer, a studio, or a casting agency to produce his product visuals. He now manages the production of his content himself and carries out art direction work, all from his desk, in just a few minutes.

What he particularly appreciates: the ability to choose his models from a wide catalog, and to tailor the selected profile to each piece to better reflect the brand's DNA. Where a traditional shoot imposed a constant compromise on the model's profile, Veeton offers unique customization freedom.

“The main benefit, beyond the cost, is being completely autonomous.”

The next steps

Next steps: enriching B2C content with Veeton

Building on this first successful experience with product pages, Jean-Charles is considering expanding his use of Veeton to other content formats. The goal is twofold: to provide social media with richer and more varied visuals, and to enhance the photos on the website in order to improve the online shopping experience.

He also wants to test the platform's new video templates, which he plans to develop and evolve in close collaboration with the Veeton teams.

Ogarun’s tips for making the most of the Veeton platform
  • Animate existing outdoor photos: Veeton allows you to take images from field shoots and animate them using the video generation tool, a simple way to give new life to already-produced content.

  • Retouch details after generation: when a generated image has a slight imperfection, such as a misplaced tag or an unusual fold, Jean-Charles recommends retouching it directly rather than regenerating it. Fast and effective.
